Jeff Samz, President and CEO of Huntsville Hospital Health System, has been elected Chair-Elect of the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA) Board of Trustees. The election took place during the Association’s recent Annual Meeting.

“Jeff has long been a respected leader within Alabama’s hospital community, and his contributions to our Association have been both thoughtful and impactful,” said Donald E. Williamson, MD, President and CEO of the Alabama Hospital Association. “As Chair-Elect, his strategic insight and deep knowledge of the state’s healthcare landscape will be invaluable as we work together to address the evolving needs of hospitals and the patients they serve.”

As CEO of one of the state’s largest health systems, Samz leads Huntsville Hospital Health System, which spans 14 hospitals and numerous ambulatory locations across north Alabama. He oversees a workforce of 20,000 employees and a medical staff of more than 2,000 physicians, guiding the system’s operations, partnerships, and long-term direction.

Samz has been an active and engaged leader within AlaHA for many years. He has served on the Association’s Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Federal Legislative and Regulatory Committees, and chaired the Public Awareness Task Force. Most recently, he served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Board.

Beyond his work in healthcare, Samz is involved in several civic and professional organizations. He currently serves as chair of the Huntsville Madison County Chamber of Commerce, vice chair of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Foundation, and Treasurer of the Business Council of Alabama.

Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization dedicated to supporting member hospitals in effectively meeting the healthcare needs of Alabama residents through advocacy, education, representation, and service.
