About Us
The North Alabama Sleep Disorders Center is a fully accredited center with the goal of diagnosing and treating sleep related disorders. Our professional staff includes physicians board certified in the specialty of Sleep Medicine.
What are sleep disorders?
Any problem with sleep that causes dysfunction during your waking hours is a sleep disorder.
Symptoms of a sleep disorder may include:
- Daytime Sleepiness
- Leg Pain
- Night Chest Pains
- Heavy Snoring
- Morning Headaches
- Sleepwalking
- Difficulty Falling Asleep
- Sleep talking
- Uncontrollable Hypertension
How can I know if I have a sleep disorder?
The most effective way to determine if you have a sleep disorder is through sleep testing, called polysonnograms. Our center is a medical facility with home-like, private, comfortable study rooms. Sleep disorder testing is non-invasive and painless and is scheduled on an outpatient basis during an overnight stay at our center. After Hours & Emergencies
The Sleep Center provides non-emergency services only. If you are sick the day of your study, please call 256-386-4191 to reschedule. Patients must be in stable medical condition during sleep studies.
Appointment Information
- Consultations Available: Monday – Thursday by appointment
- Daytime Testing: Monday through Thursday
- Overnight Testing: Monday – Thursday
- Home Testing: At your convenience
Please bring the following items to your first appointment:
- Insurance card
- Driver’s License
- Any previous sleep study reports from other centers or sleep physicians; medical information may be faxed to us at 256= 386-4192 prior to your appointment.
- Completed new patient questionnaire
Payment information
The Sleep Center is fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, which is a requirement of most insurance providers. Some insurances may require a referral or pre-certification for office visits and sleep studies. If you are unsure of what your insurance company requires, please contact them prior to your appointment.
