Understanding the Cost of Your Care

Last Updated: 4-1-2026

HH Health encourages patients to learn as much as possible about the cost of their care before receiving services. Understanding hospital pricing can help patients make informed decisions and plan for potential out-of-pocket expenses.

The amount a patient pays for health care services depends on several factors, including insurance coverage, deductibles, co-payments and negotiated rates with insurance providers.

Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider or Medicare/Medicaid representative for specific benefit and coverage information.

Understanding Hospital Charges

HH Health complies with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements by making hospital standard charges publicly available.

Standard charges represent the gross charges for specific services, supplies or medications. These amounts:

  • Do not reflect what a hospital is paid
  • Do not reflect what an insured or uninsured patient will ultimately pay

Actual payment amounts are determined by:

  • Government payment programs
  • Negotiated agreements with private insurance companies

Because of these factors, standard charges may vary by hospital—even within the same region.

Price Estimates vs. Standard Charges

Standard charge files are intended to support transparency and regulatory compliance. They are not personalized cost estimates.
